After a big year of RISING and Hymba Yumba working together, the school recognised the work of the RISING Community Program by naming the sportsperson of the year award after the program: “The RISING Community Program Sportsperson of the Year Award”
RISING development and participation officer Ryley Jacks was invited to Hymba Yumba’s grade 12 graduation to present the award.
It was fitting it was awarded to Josh Bond a participant of the program throughout 2023.
RISING staff, Yvonne and Ryley, worked closely with Josh to help him improve his nutrition and training habits. They helped Josh set personal goals at the start of the year and checked in with him regularly in order to help him reach his goals.
This all showed up on the field, with Josh having a personal best year across several sports.
