our program

RISING not only works with children in their school environment.

Our program is developing all the time and we envisage it spreading into our community at large. We are working towards ensuring that the best advice and opportunities are passed onto the children we are involved with, and to the staff and support networks that are involved with them.

What we offer

RISING Community Program was established to support young people at risk. To provide continuing support for young people through their educational journey, emotionally and physically.

We will achieve this by working with the schools to develop a program that meets their needs.

introduction

Staff and facilities

In the introduction stage of our program, participants will have the opportunity to connect with RISING mentors.

RISING mentors will draw on their past experiences to tell their story of past achievements to first allow the young people to find a common ground and then see where their story might begin.

They will engage in ice-breaking activities and games designed to build rapport, trust, and a sense of belonging within the group. Through these activities, we aim to create a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone’s voice is valued and heard.

Building Relationships: Continue building strong relationships with the young people in the program, gaining a better understanding of their strengths, interests, and aspirations. This can involve one-on-one conversations, group activities, and mentorship.

Planning and success

In the second stage of the RISING Community Program, the focus shifts towards helping young people set and achieve their personal goals in relation to school, higher education, and post-schooling career options. Here are some steps to consider for this stage:

Goal Setting: Work with the young individuals to set specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals. These goals could be related to academic achievement, career exploration, extracurricular activities, or personal development.

By focusing on goal setting and personalized support, the RISING Community Program can help young people take meaningful steps towards their desired future paths.

Encourage the students

Setting out challenges is important as it provides young people with the opportunity to learn valuable skills and pushes them to step outside of their comfort zone.

By facing challenges, individuals can develop resilience, problem-solving abilities, and a strong work ethic, which are essential for success in both personal and professional endeavors. Encouraging young people to take on challenges can foster growth, confidence, and a sense of accomplishment, preparing them for the demands of the future.

Mental health and well being

Empowering young people is essential for building a thriving and sustainable future. Here are several ways to empower young people. Providing support for mental health and emotional well-being is crucial for empowering young people to overcome challenges and thrive.
