Last Friday, we had the privilege of hosting the Year 7s from Bundamba State High School. These students have been working with RISING Ambassadors, Maria and Nat, and had their hard work rewarded with a trip to Totally Workwear Stadium.
The students were able to experience the facilities at the stadium, including the locker rooms, media room, gym and playing turf.
The group started the day with a small tour of the changeroom facilities and then headed to the field for a warmup and some games. A highlight of this experience was the “under the post” try celebrations competition as well as the half field touch game.
The students were then headed for some gym activities and some media experience.
The gym activities challenged the students to do both a cardio room workout and a body weight circuit that provided them with a quick and safe understanding of a gym session that a player at the Brisbane Tigers would do.
The media experience gave the group a look into what is expected of semi-professional and professional athletes when called in for media duties. The students conducted a few interviews and were able to act as both the interviewer and interviewee as well as having their questions answered by the program’s Marketing and Social Media Coordinator.
