On Thursday the 14th of November, we had the pleasure of welcoming around 100 Year 6 students from Goodna State School to Totally Workwear Stadium for an exciting experience, this was a reward for the student’s hard work throughout the term in the RISING program with ambassadors Maria and Nat. The students got the chance to explore various parts of the stadium, including the locker rooms, gym, warm-up field, and the main playing turf.
The day kicked off with a welcoming and introduction to Totally Workwear Stadium from RISING Coordinator, Ryley Jacks. Following this, the group participated in various activities and games on the warm-up field and main playing turf, giving students a feel for what the surfaces are like in a semi-professional environment.
Students then transitioned into the gym, where they were challenged with a range of body weight exercises that provided them with a quick and safe understanding of what the Brisbane Tigers players partake in on a regular basis. This brought on one of the highlights of the day, the chin-up challenge in the gym where the students eagerly pushed themselves to their personal best, which was great to see.
Overall, it was a rewarding day for the Year 6s from Goodna State School!
